Betsy Vardell is a Founder and the Creative Director of RubyStudio, a full-service creative and technology studio she has led for more than 20 years. She has directed brand strategy, design, and storytelling for global institutions including the Smithsonian, United Nations, Harvard, Yale, and ABC News — work grounded in the belief that good design should be clear, purposeful, and centered on the people it serves.
Betsy brings a rare combination of creative vision and operational depth to every engagement. She is as comfortable shaping a brand narrative and advocating for users as she is managing a complex content platform, or integrating AI tools to make creative work smarter and faster. She leads with empathy, thinks in systems, and holds craft to a high standard.
She is based in Durham, North Carolina.
